Who

You might have noticed the guy in the dish pit on Friday nights? Well just in case you haven’t, his name is JT and in spite his amazing dish washing talents he is even better at drinking beer and running (in that order). But don’t think just because beer is involved that he isn’t serious about running. JT has an extensive running resume’ to include for 2009, Hardrock, Leadville 100, Pikes Peak Marathon and many more long distance races. So JT, John O’Neil (of Colorado Running Co) and yours truly here are inviting YOU to join us as we try to develop a new running club here in our community. We are encouraging ALL levels of runner, if you’ve thought about starting running, please come out and join us. There is nothing more motivating than the company of fellow runners when you’re getting started. And for those of you that are trying to take it to the next level, you might find someone here to push you a bit as well. For those that are simply looking for a social outlet that involves running, we got you covered too.

What

It’s a running club. We will begin by meeting at Trinity each week to run then have a beer and get to know each other. This is a great way to meet training partners or groups that are participating in races or just a great way to spend a Monday night. Again, all levels are welcome and encouraged. We will do all we can to make this a good mix of boys and girls. Of course if there are more girls than boys I don’t think anyone will complain.

When

First Run = Monday 14-Sept-2009, meet at 5:40, run starts at 6:00PM. We meet each week after that rain, shine, wind, snow, daylight, dark. Cancellations will be posted well ahead of time and and email will be sent out as well.

Where

We’ll meet at Trinity Brewing Co (that’s us) if you don’t know where that is follow this link. Be here by 5:45 to check-in. So if you need to change clothes, etc., please be ready to check-in by 5:45. The runs will start promptly at 6:00PM each week.

Distances/Routes:

Short Route 4.25 miles map - Leaves Trinity headed west up to the pipe stem for the Sinton trail, crosses GOG at the cross-walk goes between Intel buildings on the path and connects to the Sinton trail. Take Sinton trail headed east to Chestnut St. Turn left headed north toward GOG. At GOG get on the sidewalk opposing traffic and head west toward Trinity. Continue to the intersection just east of Trinity, cross at the cross-walk and finish by the big door at Trinity. Drink a beer!

Long Route 8.3 miles map - Follow the short route but instead of crossing GOG at the Intel buildings, continue on to the intersection of GOG and 30th. Cross GOG headed south, past the gas station, up the hill on the hike/bike path on the east side of 30th. Follow the trail as it passes underneath 30th and enters Garden of the Gods Park all the way to the main entrance road. Turn right, taking the road, then follow the one-way traffic pattern around the Garden. At the first intersection, the one that could take you to Balanced Rock, turn left continuing to follow the traffic pattern all the way back to the main entrance road. Follow the route described earlier back to Trinity. Drink a beer!

Why

The main intention of this group/club is to encourage a community of runners. What happens after that is each persons own desire.
